Tel Aviv: Comrades Defy Fascism, Spread Communism amid War and Genocide

TEL AVIV (Occupied Palestine), October 7— Hundreds of anti-war protesters defied the Zionist government’s bloodthirsty propaganda today with mass demonstrations on the anniversary of the Gaza genocide. Four groups of ICWP comrades participated with our communist message.

One group of seven comrades took part in a liberal rally in front of Israeli fascist Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Tel Aviv residence. We clandestinely distributed Red Flag. Many people blamed Netanyahu for failing to anticipate the October 7 attack.

Our leaflet explained that the problem was not just one person. It is the role of Israel in policing the Middle East to protect the imperialist interests of the United States. We got many positive responses that we will report on later.

One comrade in the group explained, “I am proud to be a member of ICWP. I was heavily influenced by Zionist propaganda three years ago. In my apartment building, I saw a copy of the Red Flag. I looked at the headline on Palestine. I almost put it in the trash bin when a man tapped me from behind. That started our friendship.

“Day after day, this neighbor explained to me why only communism can liberate humanity from capitalist genocides,” the comrade continued. “I thought he was out of his mind. But two years of friendship, debates, and meetings have changed me.”

Many people at the protest who wanted to talk more with us are just like this comrade. The most promising were some ex-IOF soldiers who detested what they had done. We have planned a meeting with them.

Another protest was in front of the home of fascist “security” minister Ben-Gvir, also in Tel Aviv. Four ICWP members and friends distributed two hundred copies of Red Flag and leaflets. It was a boisterous rally that burnt Ben-Gvir’s effigy. We already knew some of the active participants. We plan to meet with two of them.

The most significant part of our day’s work was conducted by some of our members and their neighbors who were in Jerusalem as part of a B’Tselem anti-war protest.

Our next report will share more details about these actions, the week’s meetings, and additional demonstrations.

A recently-leaked CIA assessment warns that Israel is at risk of civil war or state collapse. The need and the potential for communist revolution are growing daily in Occupied Palestine. This potential can only be realized by rapid growth of ICWP among Palestinians and non-Palestinians, especially workers, soldiers, and youth.
