The first was a report and discussion on how to expand the work of the International Communist Workers’ Party, inside and outside the factories. The second focused on the criminalization of migration and how it should be combated in the different countries where the ICWP is expanding its membership.

Comrades from the factories reported on the situation maquila workers are going through. Several comrades were unable to attend the meeting because they were forced to work on the weekend.

“We’re being pressured to meet production demands. They force us to have rotating schedules. We work longer hours, even on weekends, so the bosses can deliver the merchandise. This is how they make their profits at the expense of our labor. That’s why my wife couldn’t come,” said Andrés, a maquila worker.

The layoffs have been ongoing since the middle of the year. The new supervisors are putting more pressure on the workers and exploiting them more intensely, using repression, reprimands, and even harassment. This situation affects the workers’ health.

Comrade José commented: “A colleague has worked for thirty years despite being diabetic. Her health has become even more complicated with the loss of her vision. She’s living in a stressful situation, as she’s not yet old enough to retire. Doctors can’t declare her incapacitated by her condition, even though it’s legal due to her vision impairment. However, the factory bosses respond that the only thing they could do is fire her.”

How will this repressive system be defeated?

The challenges we face as ICWP are great. We are not for reforms; we want real change. This requires the overthrow of capitalism worldwide.

Every comrade is an organizer. A recruiter for ICWP. Communist ideas must guide our daily political work.

A comrade asked, “What should we do when workers who are members of unions see us meeting with a comrade who is recognized as an ICWP member? We are afraid of reprisals against us.”

Another comrade responded, “For the growth of the Party, distribution, and discussion of Red Flag, you can meet outside of the factory and outside of working hours. The communist struggle is not against our class brothers and sisters. It is against the capitalist system and its unions, which try to make them see us as enemies.”

In the face of the criminalization of migration, who are the real criminals?

The migration situation impacts everyone. The majority of Salvadorans have a relative in the US, causing family disintegration. Many migrate to other countries in search of a better life. Those called migrants are currently being called criminals, among other terms.

But who are the real criminals? We know the answer. Imperialist capitalists are the real criminals, with their rotten profit system that exploits, divides, and kills our working class.

The global capitalist crisis drives imperialist capitalists to military mobilization and inter-imperialist wars, driven by their desire to seize wealth and greater power. As communists, we must follow the example of our historical comrades who managed to infiltrate the bosses’ armies and defeat them from within.

In the mobilizations in Los Angeles and elsewhere, our comrades have distributed hundreds of copies of our communist newspaper. In El Salvador, we have also distributed Red Flag in several factories. Sharing all of ICWP’s political actions internationally. In the struggle for the masses, proposing that Communism is the only solution for the working class.

Front page of this issue

EL SALVADOR, October 25— “Our collectives continue to meet, organizing communist political work, even with greater repression in the factories,” said José, a worker.
