Cutting Edge of Workers\u2019 Global Struggle Today <\/span><\/h4>\n

EL SALVADOR, August 24\u2014\u201dWhat is happening in Palestine is not an isolated tragedy or a war between equals. It is the result of US imperialist domination, of powers defending their interests while allowing a people to be expelled, bombed, and killed. As workers, we cannot remain indifferent to these crimes,\u201d said J.<\/p>\n

Recent attacks escalate the same reality: occupation, displacement, repression, and violence against people who have had to fight for decades. Behind this is US imperialism that allows, finances, and protects the Zionist occupation while Palestinian people pay with their lives.<\/p>\n

On August 23, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza killed two Palestinians, including a four-year-old boy. Others were wounded. These attacks continue despite an October 2025 \u201cceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can we talk about a ceasefire when children are still dying?\u201d J continued. \u201cA child\u2019s death cannot become just another number. The genocide in Gaza should outrage us and mobilize us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The horrors continue long after the bombs fall. On August 4, thousands attended a funeral for 112 Palestinians whose remains were just recovered from the rubble of an attack in November 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many more families will lose their loved ones? Will have to wait years to recover their bodies? As long as the occupation continues, more families will be destroyed and more lives torn away,\u201d declared C.<\/p>\n

In the occupied West Bank, settler violence shatters Palestinian communities.<\/strong> This week, the Zionist rulers opened bidding on 1,234 homes in the strategically sensitive E1 settlement project. This project is meant to erase the possibility of a Palestinian state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe workers know what it means to lose a home, a job, or the possibility of living with dignity,\u201d said D. \u201cFor the Palestinian people, settlements take away their land, their homes, and their communities.\u201d D was connecting his personal experiences with the far more dire ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. \u201cIt is something like what we experience when those in power want a property and dispossess us of our home,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe can no longer remain indifferent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The case of Hind Rajab<\/strong>, a Palestinian girl killed in Gaza in 2024, has exposed to the world the genocidal nature of the Zionist attacks. Finally, after over two years, the Israeli army has acknowledged that its soldiers fired on Hind\u2019s family\u2019s car. It announced a criminal investigation into this and the murders of fifteen Palestinian health workers.<\/p>\n

But no \u201cinvestigation\u201d carried out by the murderous institution itself can guarantee justice. \u201cNo justice can be built within a system that protects those in power,\u201d concluded A. \u201cClearly, impunity also has victims within the rotten system of capitalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

A recent Israeli law allows the death penalty by hanging for Palestinians labeled as \u201cterrorists.\u201d This week, National Security Minister Ben-Gvir showed off a new gallows facility to execute Palestinian prisoners. It includes observation spaces for Jewish victims\u2019 relatives.<\/p>\n

Genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine call for communist revolution!<\/strong> They cannot be separated from a world system where the great powers defend economic, military, and geopolitical interests over workers\u2019 dead bodies. Palestinians are not the only people who suffer wars, occupations, and other crimes under imperialist domination.<\/p>\n

Solidarity cannot be reduced to just expressing indignation.<\/strong> We must transform solidarity into the organization of ICWP and the struggle for communist revolution.<\/p>\n

We do not want a world where the lives of a people are sacrificed to defend the interests of states, capitalists, and imperialist powers. We fight for a society where wealth and resources are at the service of human needs and not exploitation and profit.<\/p>\n

The working class has a common enemy: a system that places profits, territories, and the interests of powers above human life. That divides us with borders, racism, nationalism, and more. To defeat that enemy we need a mass International Communist Workers\u2019 Party to fight for and win a communist society.<\/p>\n

Our collective must make a greater commitment to winning over new comrades and strengthening our Party. We must devote ourselves with greater discipline to study groups to learn more deeply about the struggles of our class and the history of Zionism, to understand what our siblings in Palestine are experiencing today.<\/p>\n

We must take advantage of every opportunity to prepare the working class to rise up, organized and conscious, toward the Communist Revolution.<\/p>\n

Letter: Zionism Repression at the Perqu\u00edn Winter Festival<\/span><\/h4>\n

Since the 1990s, after the 1970-1992 war in El Salvador, the Winter Festival has been held in Perqu\u00edn, Moraz\u00e1n. This artistic and cultural event has been a space to commemorate our martyrs among the guerrillas and the civilian population killed and fallen in combat during the war.<\/p>\n

One of the most important moments of the festival is the traditional Trova night, where local, national, and international artists perform historical revolutionary songs and also present their own compositions.<\/p>\n

This year, the Trova night began with apparent normality. Several groups had presented their art, and the rebellious atmosphere was strongly felt.<\/p>\n

At that moment, some comrades took out a Palestinian flag and began waving it in front of the stage. Slogans in solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people and against the Zionist government of Israel and its imperialist allies were shouted at the top of their lungs in the square.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, one comrade placed the Palestinian flag on the main stage, without interfering with the development of the event. However, an employee of the mayor\u2019s office of Moraz\u00e1n Norte, escorted by two agents of the National Civil Police, proceeded to remove her from the scene.<\/p>\n

A loud popular booing was immediately heard. A group of people demanded the return of the flag and an explanation of that action.<\/p>\n

In front of the Perqu\u00edn church were the mayor, the producer of the event, the employee who removed the flag, and the police. The discussion became slightly heated, but they failed to convincingly explain the reasons for the removal. The mayor and the producer alleged that the flag could represent a cause of crime because it generated discomfort or disagreement among part of the audience.<\/p>\n

We consider that these arguments have no legal or legitimate basis. What happened represents, from our perspective, an example of how any public expression of solidarity with Palestine can be censored or repressed. Denouncing the genocide against the Palestinian people and expressing solidarity should not become a crime or a reason for persecution.<\/p>\n

We also understood, between the lines, that the decision could respond to pressure from higher levels of the government. Despite not having committed any crime, we were threatened with arrest if we continued with the show of solidarity. In the face of that threat, we had to roll up the flag, carrying with impotence, anger, and sadness the impossibility of continuing to publicly express our denunciation.<\/p>\n

This experience should make us reflect on the importance of strengthening the formation and organization of the popular power of the working class, in order to confront, consciously and consistently, the repression and the interests of the bourgeoisie and imperialism.<\/p>\n

The more repression, the more struggle.<\/p>\n

Organizing the working class is the duty of communists!<\/p>\n

Poem: Mixed Feelings<\/span><\/h4>\n

I walk the mountains of Moraz\u00e1n,<\/p>\n

slowly healing.<\/p>\n

For more than ten years,<\/p>\n

I cherished the trova nights<\/p>\n

at the winter festival.<\/p>\n

I came to know many musicians and artisans,<\/p>\n

I came to work and sing alongside my people.<\/p>\n

But this time,<\/p>\n

the mayor threatened us<\/p>\n

for flying the Palestinian flag.<\/p>\n

He told me we were committing a crime,<\/p>\n

and damaging the festival\u2019s image.<\/p>\n

I told him there\u2019s no crime,<\/p>\n

in embracing the struggling people of Palestine in solidarity.<\/p>\n

But the dictatorship<\/p>\n

that rules El Salvador pulled his ear,<\/p>\n

the imperialist Zionists,<\/p>\n

and they threatened us<\/p>\n

with repression<\/p>\n

if we kept shouting slogans<\/p>\n

in support of Palestine.<\/p>\n

The winter festival<\/p>\n

is losing its reason for being;<\/p>\n

the musicians are forgetting their rebellious spirit,<\/p>\n

and follow the authorities\u2019 orders;<\/p>\n

Solidarity among the people<\/p>\n

under threat from the attack of the military and police horde,<\/p>\n

and we had to limit ourselves to retrieving and putting away the Palestinian flag.<\/p>\n

From that moment on,<\/p>\n

I stopped singing,<\/p>\n

I felt rage and helplessness,<\/p>\n

that clouded my joy,<\/p>\n

spent over an hour feeling sad and lost in thought.<\/p>\n

But I am fortunate<\/p>\n

to have comrades close by,<\/p>\n

They embraced me and reminded me,<\/p>\n

that as we reorganize to fight,<\/p>\n

we must make our smiles and joy<\/p>\n

a banner and a symbol,<\/p>\n

that strengthens our conviction and conscience.<\/p>\n

And that we never let<\/p>\n

the enemy\u2019s attack<\/p>\n

rob of our love for our working people,<\/p>\n

whom we love with defiance.<\/p>\n

Love must continue to be a revolutionary act,<\/p>\n

Just, dignified, and combative.<\/p>\n
