From Los Angeles to South Africa: Fight Racist Police Murders

LOS ANGELES (US), September 1 – Hundreds marched and rode in car caravans for the second day in a row to protest the LA Sheriffs’ execution of 29-year-old Black bicyclist Dijon Kizzee. Even the Sheriffs admit that he had nothing in his hands when they shot him at least a dozen times.

Comrades of ICWP distributed about 90 copies of Red Flag. “We’re from the ICWP and we believe that this system has to be overthrown with communist revolution,” one said. “You got that right,” a Black woman responded.

One man said, “But it doesn’t have to be revolution.” The comrade responded, “This country was built with slavery and stolen land and it cannot change until we make revolution.” The man conceded that “ I guess that that’s the reality of it, so I guess I agree with you,”

The comrade sat down next to a woman sitting on the curb who was reading the paper and asked her, “What are you reading so attentively?”

“I’m taking a picture of the South Africa article,” she said. “I’m from South Africa and I’m sending it to my family and friends over there.” We had an extended conversation and exchanged numbers. “Yes, invite me to any events that you have,” she said.
