Government’s War on Workers Creates Opportunities for Communist Revolution

DELHI (India), September 10— “There is a war going on behind this green fabric”, Mayawati told comrades who were distributing ICWP communist literature.

The government erected miles of green fabric to hide slums as the G-20 meeting is taking place here.

“The policemen constantly harass us, there is a complete lockdown”, Mayawati continued. “The barbed wires prevent us from taking public transport just a few meters away. No medicine, no sewer, damn this government!”

Everyone in these slums had a similar story. The government is trying to hide more than two million slum dwellers to show that India is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

“Here is our communist literature”, explained a comrade of ICWP.  “This war you are talking about can only be defeated by the masses of people like you joining us. Only communism can put an end to the wage slavery that is being celebrated on the other side.

“People like you have built freeways, airports, metro, hospitals. But they have put you in slums with no facilities. There are hundreds of millions like us that capitalism has created around the world.” The comrade had to keep walking as hundreds of police were keeping an eye on every movement.

Comrades prepared a very short leaflet, “Smash G20 war preparations with Communist Revolution.” We went to these locations with our leaflet several days before the recent G20 meeting. As we talked to the workers, it became even clearer that there was a war on the working class. Just weeks before, the fascist government had bulldozed thousands of homes of Muslim workers living in slums surrounded by the posh suburbs of New Delhi.

Our communist ideas were making sense. Many young people were impatient. “How can you explain that 50,000 international G20 delegates are housed in five-star hotels while millions here are sleeping on the streets?” they asked.  Forty-three heads of state from the richest countries in the world are here, along with delegations from 115 countries. They are served on silver and gold plates.

“This is how capitalism transforms the wealth produced by workers into the richest capitalists. Only the complete destruction of capitalism, its wage slavery, its money, and its banking system can end this misery of the masses. However, the destruction of capitalism is also the process of building a communist society based on the needs of the masses. We don’t need banks to tell us how to build houses, hospitals, schools. We, communists, can do it.”

During the week before G20, we had already gained some experience in the neighbourhood. We had to be extra cautious as the government was watching us. However, they had given us the opportunity to talk about communism because millions of people were under lockdown. We were able to talk to many people for hours. Many young people wanted to join ICWP right away. We gave them huge stacks of our literature, which they took with enthusiasm.

G20, BRICS Expansion:  US and Chinese Imperialism on Collision Course

Our leaflet said that the G20 is a continuation of the process of world war. The G20 sugar-coats its fascist agenda with lofty slogans like “One planet, one family, one future.” But underneath there is tension between the US and its European and Japanese allies and the rising China and Russia. The G20, chaired by fascist Modi, agreed to a joint declaration that made no explicit reference to the war in Ukraine. The only major “achievement” was a proposed alternative to China’s “Belt and Road Initiative.”  The proposal to link India to Europe via the Middle East was a pipe dream as it was obvious that such a project could take seventy-five years.

At its conference in Johannesburg last month, BRICS added six more members. It also expanded China’s role. China has the largest trade balance with these countries. The world is divided between the US and China. They are on a collision course because these imperialist powers need to capture new markets. The wars in Ukraine and Africa show that more wars are in the future. Some workers in Johannesburg denounced Modi in August as a warmonger, along with Putin and Biden.

We learned from the G20 that whenever we are with the working class, we create opportunities for communism. It gives us confidence that we can advance faster than we think if we are with the workers. They are impatient. They are fed up with empty promises. Our communist alternative gives them a vision for change. We will go back to those young workers to show that, with their help, a communist revolution is possible.

Smash G20 War Preparations with Communist Revolution

You don’t have to be subjected to police harassment, lockdowns, and getting your entire areas bulldozed. In the name of the beautification of New Delhi, the capitalist forces have launched war on the working class.

Last month, thousands of Muslims were bulldozed. They used communalism to isolate the Muslim workers. Today, they are attacking us all. Over 280 areas are being bulldozed here. Almost all these areas are workers struggling to survive on contract day labour. The Delhi administration is planning to force out 1.8 million in their bulldozer drives.

Communists of ICWP are going around your neighborhood. We are asking you to read our literature. We want to build a movement of the working class to smash capitalism and establish a communist society without money and banks. With masses of communists organized by our party, we will be able to create a society for us, the workers, and not the parasites who live on the other side of the fence.

When the workers seize power under communist principles, we can create a society where health care, housing, and education will be provided for our needs, not based on profit.

The spectacle of those 50,000 delegates on the other side is a declaration of war. They are serving butchers like Biden, Modi, Ursula von der Leyen, and many others to carve out more markets while Putin and Xi, who are absent, are staking claims for the same markets. This competition has led to was in Ukraine and wars spreading in parts of Africa. This lust for maximum profit is what you are paying for with blood.

But we have the power to overthrow all of them. Imagine if 1.8 million workers in Delhi with a communist outlook fought back against these imperialist warmongers. This fight will make millions around the world fight for communism. Our oppressors will use the army to crush us. But soldiers are also our brothers and sisters. We can organize for communism to smash the capitalist system.

आपको पुलिस उत्पीड़न, तालाबंदी और अपने पूरे क्षेत्र पर बुलडोजर चलवाने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। नई दिल्ली के सौंदर्यीकरण के नाम पर पूंजीवादी ताकतों ने मजदूर वर्ग पर युद्ध छेड़ दिया है।

पिछले महीने हजारों मुसलमानों पर बुलडोज़र चला दिया गया. उन्होंने मुस्लिम कार्यकर्ताओं को अलग-थलग करने के लिए सांप्रदायिकता का इस्तेमाल किया। आज वे हम सब पर हमला कर रहे हैं. यहां 280 से ज्यादा इलाकों पर बुलडोजर चलाया जा रहा है. इनमें से लगभग सभी क्षेत्रों में श्रमिक अनुबंध दिवस श्रम पर जीवित रहने के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे हैं। दिल्ली प्रशासन 18 लाख लोगों पर बुलडोजर चलाने की योजना बना रहा है।

ICWP के कम्युनिस्ट आपके पड़ोस में जा रहे हैं. हम आपसे हमारा साहित्य पढ़ने के लिए कह रहे हैं। हम पूंजीवाद को नष्ट करने और पैसे और बैंकों के बिना एक साम्यवादी समाज की स्थापना के लिए मजदूर वर्ग का एक आंदोलन बनाना चाहते हैं। हमारी पार्टी द्वारा संगठित बड़े पैमाने पर कम्युनिस्टों के साथ, हम अपने लिए, श्रमिकों के लिए, न कि बाड़ के दूसरी तरफ रहने वाले परजीवियों के लिए एक समाज बनाने में सक्षम होंगे।

जब कार्यकर्ता साम्यवादी सिद्धांतों के तहत सत्ता पर कब्ज़ा कर लेते हैं, तो हम एक ऐसा समाज बना सकते हैं जहाँ हमारी ज़रूरतों के लिए स्वास्थ्य देखभाल, आवास और शिक्षा प्रदान की जाएगी, और यह लाभ पर आधारित होगी।

दूसरी तरफ उन 50,00 प्रतिनिधियों का तमाशा युद्ध की घोषणा है। वे अधिक बाजार बनाने के लिए बिडेन, मोदी, उर्सुला और कई अन्य जैसे कसाइयों की सेवा कर रहे हैं, जबकि पुतिन और शी जो अनुपस्थित हैं, उन्हीं बाजारों के लिए दावा कर रहे हैं। यह प्रतिस्पर्धा यूक्रेन में युद्धों का कारण बन रही है और यह अफ्रीका के कुछ हिस्सों में फैल रही है। अधिकतम लाभ की इस लालसा की कीमत आप खून से चुका रहे हैं।

लेकिन हममें उन सभी को उखाड़ फेंकने की ताकत है।’ कल्पना कीजिए, दिल्ली में साम्यवादी दृष्टिकोण वाले 18 लाख कार्यकर्ताओं ने इन साम्राज्यवादी युद्धोन्मादकों के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़ी। यह लड़ाई दुनिया भर में लाखों लोगों को साम्यवाद के लिए लड़ने पर मजबूर कर देगी। हमारे उत्पीड़क हमें कुचलने के लिए सेना का प्रयोग करेंगे। लेकिन वे भी हमारे भाई-बहन हैं।’ हम पूंजीवादी मंच को ध्वस्त करने के लिए साम्यवाद के लिए संगठित हो सकते हैं।
