Chinese Nationalism is a Fascist Imperialist Creation here ♦ Thousands protest in Nigeria here ♦
In the 1950’s and 1960’s, the Chinese Communist Party fought for international workers’ revolution, unlike today when they fight for Chinese Imperialist domination.
Chinese Nationalism is a Fascist Imperialist Creation (Part II)
Intensified Nationalist Indoctrination and Fascist Repression Are Preparation for Genocidal World War
Ever since capitalist Xi Jinping became head of the State in 2013, the Chinese imperialists have called on universities and schools to intensify patriotic and nationalist indoctrination.
Their revamped “Patriotic Education Campaign” bans “wrong ideas and ideologies.” Educators who fail to show sufficient conformity to the ruling party’s ideals are fired. Their ideological brainwashing starts the very first day of elementary school, like other imperialists’ schools. Students are groomed not just to obey, but also to love the ruling party.
Under Xi’s fascist rule, the Chinese imperialists have also revived patriotic songs. These had not been played in official National Day ceremonies since Mao Zedong’s death in 1976.
These songs were originally created during the Maoist revolutionary era. Then, the Chinese Communist Party sought to improve the masses’ lives. They eradicated diseases and eliminated old customs and habits, including the oppressive practice of foot binding. They improved the literacy of the masses.
Lyrics from these songs include: “The power of the people is invincible, and the reactionaries cannot rebel even if they want to” (from “Socialism is Good”). We hear “Young friends unite and contribute to peace and friendship” (from “Youth and Friendship Dance”).
But the meaning of these lyrics has been distorted by the Chinese imperialist rulers under fascist criminal Xi Jinping. The term “reactionary” originally referred to opposition to the revolutionary social transformation of society under Mao and the CCP.
As the Chinese imperialist rulers became more fascist, they distorted the term “reactionary” to refer to collective mobilizations for reformist and revolutionary social change that are not welcomed by the ruling class.
As the rulers speak of “peace and friendship” today, they are preparing for an imperialist war that will destroy the lives of ordinary working-class siblings from China, US, Taiwan, and elsewhere. This is a dangerous fascist trend among all the world’s capitalist-imperialist powers.
The Chinese capitalist-imperialist rulers promote false “peace and friendship” by arresting and jailing anti-fascists, communists, and leftists who stand in solidarity with the most exploited workers. They jail anyone seen as a threat to ruling-class interests.
For instance, in 2018, a group of Marxist students from Peking University joined with the workers of Huizhou, Guangdong, to protest abysmal working conditions. Police arrested them. Dictator Xi Jinping had claimed that the ideas of Marx, Lenin, and Mao were the “foundation of China’s Communist Party.” But when the students decided to put Marxist ideas into practice, the government reacted with horror. The students’ arrest revealed a repressive, anti-worker, anti-communist regime.
Also, the Chinese rulers attack the Uyghur people, who live mainly in northwestern China’s Xinjiang province. Any attempt to defend them from government repression is labeled “anti-China Western propaganda.” As many as one million Uyghurs have been put into so-called “re-education camps.” There they are forced to recite nationalist slogans of the CCP and learn Mandarin Chinese. Police presence and security checkpoints have increased dramatically. Uyghur parents have been forbidden from using Muslim names, which the rulers see as “extremist.”
The Chinese imperialists vilify classless, egalitarian, worldwide communism as “Western subversive ideas used by foreign powers to interfere with China.”
As opposition to government repression grows, it will be more openly attacked. The term “reactionary,” which once referred to opposition to the Chinese Revolution, is now weaponized against revolutionaries. As the Chinese rulers prepare for imperialist world war, they are becoming more openly fascist, not “democratic.” They are intensifying their racist nationalist indoctrination of the young generation and their attacks on workers and leftists.
Nationalism, racism, sexism, and anti-communism are the rulers’ main tools to prevent the rise of a new communist movement. Such a movement would permanently end the rule of money and the domination of the many by the few. We invite those who oppose the government’s nationalism, and its attacks on workers and students, to join us.
Chinese nationalists today complain that “their” culture is being polluted by Western and Japanese cultures. In truth, Chinese nationalist rulers oppose and fear international unity of the masses.
This fascist system can be ended only with a communist revolution to end capitalist-imperialism everywhere. Workers of the world can and must take up the fight for a communist world without nations and borders, without classes, money, and wages, without genocides and wars, without racism and nationalism, and without sexism and homophobia.
Workers of the World, Unite!
No More Nations!
No More Borders!
No More Genocide!
Fight for Communism!
LAGOS (Nigeria), August 2— Thousands of workers, Muslim and Christian, joined to protest the skyrocketing cost of living and the flagrant corruption of the Tinubu government, which is strengthening Nigeria’s ties with Chinese imperialism.
