Amsterdam: Anti-fascist Masses Attack Zionist Hooligans

November 12— The Israeli Maccabi-Tel Aviv football (soccer) team went to Amsterdam for a match against the Netherlands’ Ajax team. On the night before the match, the Maccabi team went on a rampage on Amsterdam’s main square. Along with 200 armed Zionist hooligan fans, including members and veterans of the Israeli “Defense” Forces (IDF) they began marching and chanting racist genocidal chants against Palestinians. They tore down Palestinian flags. They chanted “let the IDF win!” They chanted that there are no schools in Gaza because there are no children in Gaza. They were glorifying genocide.

A taxi driver drove up and told them to stop their racist rantings and tearing down of Palestinian flags. They attacked the driver and damaged his taxi. He immediately contacted his fellow taxi drivers, many of whom are immigrant workers. Over a hundred of them came to his aid. They attacked the Zionist hooligans, beating some up. One said, “This is for the children!” as he hit a fascist.

The next day at the game, fans of the Israeli team also chanted their racist, genocidal slogans. There were scuffles between the anti-fascists and the Zionists. After the game, the Zionists marched and tried to continue their rampage. Amsterdam officials told the anti-fascists they could not march. But they marched anyway and attacked the racists.

Don’t believe the bosses’ media. Netanyahu sent chartered planes to pick up the Maccabi team and some of their IDF supporters. He claimed that “Jews aren’t safe in Amsterdam.” The Dutch President and most of the world’s bourgeois press, including the New York Times and RT (Russia Times) called the anti-Zionists “antisemitic.” This is a lie. These imperialist mouthpieces either ignored Zionist attacks or brushed it under the rug.

ICWP applauds the boldness of Amsterdam’s anti-fascist workers and youth. You can see from the sign in the picture that they are anti-racist, not antisemitic: “We can fight antisemitism and genocidal Zionism at the same time!”

But fascism, including Zionism, can’t be ended without communist revolution. Its roots are embedded in the capitalist system in its state of deep global crisis. We must take on the fascists in the streets and defend our working-class siblings to help build the fighting revolutionary communist movement needed to end the rule of the genocidal capitalists and imperialists.

At least 62 anti-fascist demonstrators have been arrested, with more threatened. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations were banned for at least three days. On Sunday, when protesters defied the ban and marched, the police viciously attacked and beat them —especially young women.

Many imperialist rulers of the world are on the side of the Zionist murderers. Others are on the side of rival capitalists and imperialists. But masses everywhere are on the side of the Palestinian masses and anti-fascists. We invite them – and you! – to join ICWP. Fight for a communist world to end fascism forever!

Capitalist Rulers Use Sexism to Divide Working Class

“My work is as good as many of my co-workers’ and yet I have never been promoted. I see new male workers getting promoted quickly,” said J. “Our bosses always foment competition and selfishness by pitting us against each other. You can’t work well like that.”

“The ruling class’s capitalist system pushes sexism as part of a destructive strategy to divide the working class,” commented A.

Many articles and letters in our newspaper Red Flag reflect the constant struggle of many comrades against the abuses of the bosses and all kinds of sexist discrimination. Women workers all over the world daily suffer sexual humiliations, aggression and even murder.

Capitalism treats all workers as objects by manipulating and exploiting them for its own enrichment. Capitalist education teaches men to treat women as objects to be used and discarded.

“Very true! Women in this society fight daily for a miserable salary. Then, tired from the long working days, we continue at home doing the chores and taking care of the children because it is our duty. That’s how we were raised,” said C.

It is important to be clear on this point. The capitalists use sexism to divide our class. They pay women workers less than men; they say that women are inferior and that they do not have the same capacity. In the capitalist education systems, they sow the seeds of these sexist practices.

The only way to eradicate sexism is to eliminate the capitalist wage system with communist revolution. Communism is the solution. It is the only system where women and men will work, do the housework, and raise the children together. There will be no money or any kind of control, but respect and mutual help developing all their potential to meet everyone’s needs.

Join ICWP! Let’s mobilize the masses all over the world to build a communist society, fighting together, women and men, against sexism and wage slavery. Read and help us distribute Red Flag!

LOS ANGELES (USA), November 9—Two ICWP comrades joined several hundred workers, teachers, and students in a pro-immigrant march in downtown LA. They distributed 100 copies of Red Flag and 90 ICWP pamphlets “Fight for the Day When No Worker Will Be Called Foreigner.”

“It was a mainly young, very friendly crew,” one comrade reported. These protests will grow as the second Trump administration steps up its racist and xenophobic attacks. We will be there to convince many that communism, not the Democratic Party, is the way forward.
