US/NATO vs Russia Imperialist War Sharpens—Letâs Mobilize for Workersâ Communist Revolution
December 3â On November 19th, Ukraine fired western-made missiles deep into Russia. They got permission from the US, France, and England to launch the attack.
Kiev had sought this permission back in September. It was denied because Putin had said he was changing Russiaâs nuclear policy to allow it to respond with nuclear weapons if weapons of mass destruction were used against itself or its allies. He said this was also true if Ukraine attacked Russia or Belarus involving conventional weapons.
The fact that NATO granted permission on the same day that Putin made this policy official shows the US rulersâ determination to defeat Russia in Ukraine at any cost. Russia is just as determined to prevent that.
Further evidence of their determination: On November 21st, Russia responded by firing the Oreshnik, a hypersonic nuclear-capable ICBM missile. It hit a Ukrainian military industrial complex. Despite the Oreshnik, on November 23, Ukraine lobbed thirteen more missiles deep into Russia. They hit a S-400 air defense unit and a Russian military airfield. On November 25, Biden publicly granted Ukraine permission to use long-range US missiles deep into Russia.
By doing this, some argue, Biden is making it impossible for Trump to end the Ukrainian war, which he promised to do. But Trumpâs deal was never possible. Russian and US imperial needs in Ukraine are incompatible.
Trump plans to halt the war by letting Russia keep the territory it has conquered and putting NATO peacekeeper troops in the rest of Ukraine. If Russia doesnât accept this deal, Trump would then threaten a NATO invasion of Ukraine to bully Russia into accepting it.
But Putin will not accept that deal. He isnât backing down. He is mass-producing Oreshnik missiles. This powerful weapon can obliterate Ukraine and NATOâs bases in the European Union without resorting to tactical nuclear weapons. The ball is now in the US-NATO court. Unable to defend themselves against it, they may decide to go nuclear first or provoke Russia into going nuclear.
Nothing is off the table. The worldâs capitalists-imperialists have started World War III. US imperialism is bringing the world to the brink of nuclear devastation by blatantly ignoring all of Russian imperialismâs âred lines.â All their plans point toward crossing Russiaâs ultimate red line: Russia will not accept NATO boots on Ukrainian soil or an attack against its ally Belarus.
Despite this, the French and British rulers currently plan to send troops to Ukraine.
Germany, a member of NATO, has its own contradictions. On the one hand, their plan âOperation Deutschlandâ calls for Berlin to prepare for war against Russia by 2030. It says Berlin could support the deployment of some 800,000 NATO troops to Ukraine. It calls on Germany to build its war industries to face the Russian challenge.
However, the German ruling class is hesitating to send its powerful Taurus missiles or troops to Ukraine. They fear that Russia will retaliate by attacking Germany. The German Chancellor says he wants Ukraine not to lose the war but doesnât say he wants Ukraine to decisively win. Germanyâs rulers have growing economic ties to China, Russiaâs ally.
Local wars, regional wars, competition, and world wars are inherent in capitalism-imperialism. They are inevitable. World War III is the result of the US-Japan-NATO imperialist bloc (with their own contradictions) versus the China-Russia-Iran imperialist bloc locked in life-and-death struggle. Their inevitable war is over which bloc will control the worldâs natural resources, markets, and most importantly, exploit our labor for maximum profits. All the imperialists are willing to fight to the last drop of our blood. None are our friend.
We canât be fooled into believing the capitalist-imperialist fairytales of peace. Nor into supporting âourâ bosses. We, the workers, soldiers and youth of the world, need to destroy them all, along with their wage slavery and wars!
As the imperialists mobilize millions of industrial workers, youth and soldiers for their wars, these millions can become a mighty red army to turn their war for profits into a war for communist workersâ power. To meet the massesâ needs everywhere.
Letâs build ICWP in the factories, barracks, schools and neighborhoods to fight for a communist world free of these murderers, their wars and their wage slavery.
We Need to Rely on the United Masses, Not on Any Capitalist or Imperialist
Communist Revolution Will Liberate the Masses
âIâm for revolution. Absolutely. Our generation will do it! Iran is on our side; theyâll help us win!â said a student at a mass protest in Los Angeles against genocide in Gaza. He disagreed that the Iran-China-Russia axis is not the workersâ friend. But he agreed to show our Gaza pamphlet to his Lebanese family.
Supporters of Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Palestinians say they are waging a national liberation struggle. National liberation struggles, supported and organized by the old international communist movement, didnât liberate the masses anywhere.
Industrial, agricultural workers, and soldiers proved, from Vietnam, China, Algeria to El Salvador and Iran, that the working class can build armies to defeat capitalists and imperialists in battle. But leaders of these national liberation struggles became the new capitalist exploiters, tied to an imperialist bloc.
Palestinian, Arab, Jewish, and all workers need a united armed struggle to defeat the fascist onslaught against them. Not an armed struggle for a Palestinian state ruled by Palestinian capitalists. No, workers everywhere need to build a mass, united ICWP-led red army to defeat the fascists and their capitalist masters and build communism.
Only communist revolution can stop a new capitalist class from rising. Only communism can end genocide and racist, imperialist super-exploitation and oppression by eliminating money, wage slavery, and production for profit. In communism, we will collectively produce and share everything according to need.
Nationalism versus Workersâ Communist Internationalism
The old communist movement thought there was âprogressive nationalismâ (of the oppressed nation) and âreactionary nationalism (of the oppressor nation). But in every ethnic group or nation, workers and bosses have opposite interests. Uniting with âourâ capitalist rulers against some imperialist means subjugating ourselves to capitalism forever!
Instead of nationalism, Palestinian, Arab, and all workers need communist internationalism. We have everything in common with workers everywhere and nothing in common with capitalists, even if they speak the same language or look like us.
Palestinian workers in Gaza and Israel have everything in common with class brothers and sisters in Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, China, the US, and Israel. And nothing in common with Palestinian, Israeli, or Iranian capitalists. Jewish anti-fascist workers have everything in common with their Palestinian siblings and nothing in common with Zionist fascist rulers. Those who fight for the fascists and attack Palestinians are the enemy of all workers.
Rely on the International Working Class, Not on âGoodâ Capitalists and Imperialists
ICWP is building one international communist party everywhere. We are fighting to build a mass party with millions of communist leaders who are both thinkers and doers.
Workers, youth, and soldiers everywhere have the same interests: getting rid of capitalism and imperialism and building a communist world without the borders and nations that divide us.
There are no lesser-evil capitalists or imperialists. Many from the Middle East, like the student protester quoted above, see Iran as the power that stands up to Israel, defending the Palestinians. But that is not the case.
Iran sponsors Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. It uses them to do Chinaâs and Russiaâs bidding. They are keeping the US-NATO bloc bogged down in the Middle East. The goal is to keep them from building up forces to âcontainâ China in the South China Sea or defeat Russia in Ukraine. Just like the US-NATO bloc is fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian, the China-Russia-Iran axis is fighting the US-NATO-Israel bloc to the last Palestinian.
We canât expect these coldblooded murderous imperialists to rescue the Palestinian masses. While the Palestinian, Lebanese, and Yemeni masses die, Chinese and Russian imperialists are expanding their imperial influence to exploit workers in Latin America, Africa, and Asia at the expense of the murderous US-European imperialists.
Iranian capitalists also seek oil profit and expanding control. Iranian workers face dangerous conditions, galloping inflation, and low wages. Some go without wages for months. Iranâs government attacks striking workers and protesters against the hijab law.
All the imperialists fear, more than anything, workersâ unity for communism that will end their bloody rule. During the Mandate period (1918-1948) Palestinian, Syrian, and Jewish workers organized strikes and fought oppressors together. The Zionist and Palestinian rulers attacked them.
The workers of the world need to unite to bury all these murderous imperialists. To mobilize to turn their coming world war into communist revolutions everywhere. Building ICWP collectives to unite workers, soldiers, and youth for communist revolution. We will win!
