Gaza: Capitalism Kills with Weapons and Poisons

Pictured: Rabat (Morocco), October 5— Thousands marched in cities across Morocco, Mauritania, Lebanon, and Yemen against the ongoing genocide in Gaza. They were organized mainly by Islamist groups. Protesters opposed Arab regimes’ “normalization” deals with the Zionist rulers. But no capitalist government, Islamist or not, can liberate the masses in Palestine, Africa, or anywhere else. Let’s use any contacts we have to spread Red Flag far and wide.

COMMUNISM WILL LET THE MASSES BREATHE AGAIN

October 26— Breathing anywhere in Gaza is like breathing inside a burning building. Fine Particle Matter (PM2.5) in Gaza was recently measured at 50,000. That’s 1,400 times higher than the World Health Organization’s “safe” level and 333 times higher than “hazardous.”

This catastrophe has already lasted for two years. After the 9/11/2001 attacks on the US, an estimated 7,000 people died directly from toxic airborne debris and poor air quality, resulting in cancer, asthma, and more. The same US imperialists killing people in Gaza provided the 9/11 survivors with medical care.

US corporations provide Israel’s weapons. But capitalism does not kill only with weapons.

Israel’s air and sea blockade of Gaza since 2007 created critical shortages of medical supplies. “Still,” according to Doctors Without Borders, “Gaza managed to have a robust and functional health care system. …. Today, that health care system no longer exists.”

Gaza has no working hospital to care for the two million people who will be subjected to years of dust. People are already drinking contaminated water. Starvation continues.

A teacher in Gaza recently asked children what they would like to do as adults. Eighty-four percent wanted to be nurses, doctors, or medical transporters. The other 16% wanted to be armed resistance fighters.

The anti-Zionist Israeli historian Ilan Pappe notes that the October 7 attack on Israel was organized by people descended from eleven villages destroyed in 1948. After three generations of occupation, exile, and ethnic cleansing, the resilient Palestinian masses still struggle. The growing ICWP collective in Gaza strives to direct that struggle toward communism.

Capitalism Rebuilds for Profit. Communism Will Rebuild for the Masses.

The imperialist war is mainly interested in which countries’ capitalists profit from this continuing genocide.

After past Zionist assaults, Gaza was rebuilt under a quiet agreement between the Israeli rulers and Hamas. Hamas was originally a relief organization. It was able to build infrastructure because Israeli rulers saw it as a counter to the Palestinian Authority. Egyptian capitalists built high-end skyscrapers for Hamas operatives in north Gaza. The Qatari rulers supported mosques, universities, and charities. Türkiye loaned funds for housing projects, hospitals, and mosques.

The international working class can no longer concern itself with which capitalists profit as the genocide continues. For the dust to settle without poisoning the air and earth, for clean water to flow, for the masses to eat healthy food without begging, and for the walls to fall we must organize for communist revolution.

Palestine Conflict:  Regional and Global Rivalries

The Gaza genocide is not ending. In the West Bank, Palestinian farmers and herders are under increasing attack by Zionist settlers and the Israeli military during this olive harvest season.

And war will continue to spread.

Iran, the main regional power, is emerging stronger with more powerful allies, China and Russia. Iranian capitalists have learned to survive attacks from the better-armed Israeli fascists.

US and European imperialists are unable to reap the super-profits they require. Their NATO alliance is ineffective. Under Trump, the US imperialists are unpredictable in trade. But they are clearly building for war. Mainly, against Venezuela in their own back yard.

The Chinese imperialists continue to expand their “Belt and Road Initiative.” It’s a massive and nimble network of digital, maritime, and resilient supply chains covering 150 countries. The Russian imperialists are more confident in the Ukraine war. And they are supplying Venezuela with the latest war technology.

Amidst this sharpening situation, we must create a solid base in the industrial working class that understands that our whole working class is under attack in Gaza. Fighting the Gaza genocide is not only a vital act of solidarity. It has unraveled the capitalist myth that brutality and mass killings can prevent capitalism’s ultimate destruction. It has mobilized billions of people around the world. The same revolution will liberate us all.

The recent strike wave in Europe has shown that imperialism cannot survive without the labor of the industrial working class. Our oppressors see this. They have responded by unleashing fascist terror like ICE in the US and neo-Nazis across Europe. By building walls of separation and bulldozing entire areas, not just in Gaza but also in India.

They think this will save them from the angry millions who wish to see a different system. It won’t. The industrial workers with the soldiers will change the face of the earth.

That other system is communism. Each page of Red Flag brings this undeniable truth. The relationships we build among Red Flag readers will continue for generations. They will become the core of a world communist system.
