Talking with Workers at Seattle No Kings Protest

“Did you go to the ‘No Kings’ protest,” a bus operator asked as he took his usual copy of Red Flag. “I saw the one in downtown LA. It was really large.”
“I went to the one in Pasadena,” I replied. “There were a lot of people. But too many of them were dressed like it was a circus. And then the politicians led a large group up front in chanting ‘USA-USA.’” The worker saw disgust written all over my face. He nodded sympathetically. “I did distribute seventy-five copies of Red Flag though,” I added.
He came by in his car again later and stopped to say, “Thank you for keeping on doing this.” He has been getting the paper from me for a long time.
“Thanks,” I said. “But it would help if you did a little bit, too.”
“Give me another paper,” he answered. “I will find someone to give it to.”
“Maybe one of the younger people in your family?” I suggested.
“I already bring my copy home for them,” he said as he pulled away.
