Workers’ Historic Role Is to Destroy All Imperialists with Communist Revolution
CENTRAL AMERICA, November 11— “Why is Trump starting a war with Venezuela? Why doesn’t he use that money to help people in the US that need it?” asked a new friend, questioning why 20% of active US war ships are there.
“Because US rulers are fighting for their empire. Latin America is an important part of it. China, Russia, and Iran have been expanding their influence there. Empires’ fate is decided by world war. Venezuela is a front – like Ukraine and Gaza – in an expanding WWIII,” explained a comrade.
Latin America, crucial to the rise of US imperialism, is now crucial for its survival. US rulers plan to integrate this whole region into “Fortress America”, further enslaving Latin American workers and hoping to defeat China-Russia-Iran in World War III.
The US military now prioritizes “Homeland” and hemispheric security. Its slogan, “If you want peace, prepare for war,” lies that war with China is not inevitable.
The US rulers are trying to dislodge China from the Americas. Trade between China and Latin America increased spectacularly from $18 billion in 2002 to $450 billion in 2022. China has invested $billions in Venezuela’s oil industry. Its huge port in Peru means resources can ship directly to China, and military hardware to South America, bypassing the US, Mexico, and the Panama Canal.
China has extended Venezuela a $60 billion line of credit to fight US imperialist aggression. Gone are the days when the US could invade countries like Panama or Nicaragua with little opposition. And a US invasion could lead to rebellions from Peru to Brazil to Mexico.
Venezuelan and Iranian capitalists are selling oil using crypto currency, bypassing US reserve currency and US-controlled financial institutions.
Both Russia and China have landed planes in Venezuela with weapons for its military. They are supplying Maduro with advanced air defense systems, missiles, and offensive cyber security equipment to track and disable US naval ships. A reported 200 troops from Russia’s Wagner Group were sent.
Iran has provided attack naval craft with anti-ship missiles. It supervises the manufacturing of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has complained that the USA “can’t afford to let the Chinese Communist Party expand its influence and absorb Latin America and the Caribbean into its private political-economic bloc.”
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman responded that Latin America is “no one’s backyard” and that “bullying… will not work.”
The US wants regime change in Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and beyond. It wants to further impoverish Latin America masses with more austerity. It wants slave labor for war production. The Chinese imperialists want to be new top exploiters of Latin American resources and workers.
Capitalist Rulers: Most Dangerous Enemy of the International Working Class
Neither the US, Chinese, nor Russian imperialists care about the masses. They are all willing to spill our blood for their profits. Each is fighting to control the labor power, resources, and factories of Latin America and the world. They are determined to use nuclear weapons, if necessary, to decide which of them will rule the world.
This is the inevitable result of a system based on wage slavery, production for profits, and competition for markets to maximize profits. It has led us to a world on the brink of two existential threats: destruction of nature and the killing of hundreds of millions.
Such a monstrous inhumane system can’t be reformed. It must be destroyed.
That is the historic duty of the international working class, the gravediggers of capitalism-imperialism. Today’s events presage rebellions and revolutions.
World Wars I and II created the objective conditions for the Russian and Chinese Revolutions. These had the potential to end capitalism-imperialism and build communism.
The fact that the old communist movement fought for socialism doesn’t negate that classless communism is the future of humanity.
Socialism was and is state capitalism. Venezuelan workers are still chained to wage slavery and the capitalist market, like workers everywhere.
The working class needs to assume its historic role. Having fought for socialism, reforms, and national liberation– we now need to fight directly for communism.
We need to build an international revolutionary movement of industrial and agricultural workers, soldiers, and youth to destroy capitalism-imperialism and build a communist world. Without wage slavery, money, markets, borders, or nations. Where the masses produce only to meet their needs.
We need to spread Red Flag and build communist collectives everywhere.
Workers in Uniform: Key to Communist Revolution
Our brothers and sisters in the armed forces have a great responsibility. Instead of defending any rulers’ profits, they must refuse to attack fellow workers. They should join urban and rural workers and youth to fight for communist workers’ power.
While US soldiers and sailors are in the Caribbean, some of their brother and sister soldiers in the US had to line up at food pantries during the government shut down! They need to refuse orders to shoot Venezuelan or any other workers and instead unite with them to get rid of all the capitalists and imperialists.
In Venezuela, workers are lining up to join the defense of the country against a US invasion. They too need to fight for their own class interests, against all the capitalists and imperialists, not to support state capitalist Maduro whose oil profits are for his friends while workers go hungry.
