South Africa: Post May Day Mobilizing

ICWP May Day Brings Hope and Courage here ♦ Enthusiastic Response in Kosten here ♦

Mobilization in Kosten, South Africa, May 10

Letter: ICWP May Day brings hope and courage

Our representation of the International Communist Workers’ Party to mobilize masses in Uitenhage Hall in South Africa proves once again that ICWP is the only party that will free the working class from this heartless capitalist system. The system that is designed to brutally attack, starve and even kill us for the purpose of maximizing profits.

It is clear that people are fed up with political parties and the system that we live under. A system of lies and empty promises that only want the masses and the working class to suffer.

It was so painful to hear stories of those who attended the conference. They told us about the endless poverty that is becoming worse every day. Where it’s the norm to go to sleep without food. Young people committing extreme crimes to fight poverty. The masses have completely lost hope of being saved by political parties that despise them.

People are so happy to see that there is an organization that is honest, and its purpose is to see all the masses free and equal. A society without empty promises, hunger, crime, exploitation, and killings.

People were singing songs of freedom for everyone, equal conditions of living for everyone. People agreed that only ICWP will free us from the brutal chains of the capitalist system.

Letter: Enthusiastic Response to Red Flag Distribution in Kosten

The day started off on a high note as the comrades gathered and filled two taxis.  We were all very excited for the day’s events, singing struggle songs and chanting. We arrived in Kosten in high spirits and were met by a very positive response from the workers and shop owners.

At first they were not aware of what was happening, but as we got closer, we explained who we were and why we were there. They received us well and we distributed many Red Flags. Most of them said they were very interested in this movement, as it brought something different. People have heard many empty promises of employment, but ICWP is bringing something completely different.

The comrades proceeded to march towards one of the government hospitals, across from a crowded shopping complex. On our way we were met by two young women who approached us and asked us where we were going and what we were doing. We explained that we were trying to reach out to people and inform them about this amazing movement that wants to get rid of the system that is enslaving all of us. They instantly showed enthusiasm and asked if they could join us along the way.

This was a big step in our effort to mobilize the masses. We walked with the new comrades and they joined us as we sang and danced until we reached our destination. We took down their details and they said they will be very happy to join us in our upcoming events.

This was the highlight of our day. These new comrades will inform their families and community about the movement, so we will get even more comrades. This is how we can grow and reach the masses.

The goal of the day had been achieved and all the comrades left on a positive note. We had a brief meeting in the taxi on our way home and every comrade said they felt the event was positive. We distributed a lot of Red Flags and we left a good first impression.  People are interested and would like to know more about the party.

Each comrade will also take the responsibility of gathering comrades around their communities. The young comrades at school will form little collectives and we will see how we can grow from there. The young comrades are a big asset. They are very energetic and easily recruit others.  I feel they are a seed that we need to water and let grow within the ICWP.
