In our fight to establish communism, communists must look back at the successes and failures of the communist movement. In order to help the study of past revolutions, the series of 11 articles linked below was published in Red Flag newspaper on the 100th anniversary of the Russian revolution of 1917.
The victory of the over capitalism by Russian communists and communists of other nationalities within the old Russian empire, has inspired millions of workers for more than a century. Unfortunately, that communist movement made the fatal mistake of establishing socialism, which is a form of capitalism, rather than creating communism directly.
Later experience, especially in the 1960s Cultural Revolution in China, shows us that it is possible to fight directly for communism, and that that is the only way to avoid the reversals of workers’ power that have taken place in Russia and China.
We can move forward to communism, but only by learning from the struggles of millions of workers of the past.
